Accreditation
The Academy prepared rigorously for the Programme Area Accreditation exercise in order to obtain selfaccreditation status for its degree programmes. It marks a watershed in institutional maturity to which the Academy deservedly aspired.
Branding
The Council's Branding Committee had delivered its report and action plan to enhance the Academy's public image and international reputation. When the plan is fully implemented, it is envisaged that the Academy will be recognised for its contributions to Hong Kong's arts education and be known for its areas of excellence amongst international peers.

主席献辞
今年我国成功举办奥运,香港因着协办奥运马术比赛, 亦为之带来重大的意义.香港演艺学院即将踏入25周 年,本人提笔撰写学院年报献辞之际,亦从奥运中获 得不少启发. 奥运会徽的五环相扣,象徵人类团结一起,追寻共同 理想.五环颜色各有不同,代表五大洲包含之不同文 化及种族共处.香港演艺学院由五所院校组成,每所 院校不但在各自的学术及专业领域追求卓越,更体现 不同学科之间的交流及合作精神,这正与奥运五环标 志着五大洲之团结及共同理念,不谋而合.「五」这 数字在中国文化中亦是象徵繁荣和成长.本人将以五 边图 — 五个顺序的英文字母 ABCDE — 重点报告学 院去年主要的发展.
学术评审 (Accreditation)
学院为取得学士课程自我评审地位,而作的学科范围评 审［Programme Area Accreditation］准备工作已一切就 绪.此乃学院迈向完善之分水岭.
建立品牌 (Branding)
校董会之品牌委员会已呈交有关提升学院之公众形象 及国际声誉的报告.当「建立品牌」的计划完成后, 在可见的未来,学院在香港艺术教育的贡献将得到社 会认同,其卓越地位亦将扬名国际.

Corporate Governance
As the final step to implement the recommendations resulting from the Review of Governance and Management led by the former Deputy Chairman Dr Moses Cheng, the Academy Council had approved the adoption of a new Academy committee system. In essence, Council committees are being redesigned to better utilise the expertise and experience of lay members. Most significantly, the creation of an Audit Committee shall assure proper checks-and-balances in the context of distinction between governance and management decisions.
Development
The construction project to transform the open-air amphitheatre into a multi-purpose auditorium has started. This inaugurated the success of the Academy's fund-raising efforts in cultivating large-scale donations for development projects, complementing the support from the government. The Development Department has already worked out a fund-raising strategy which will incrementally help to actualise the Academy's strategic priorities in phases.
