一_ 教材分析:
本课选自冀教版英语九年级上册第一单元第一课。主要讲述了奥林匹克运动会的由来和在现在奥运会,特别指出第二十九届奥林匹克运动会在中国的成功举办,使同学们对奥运会的项目有了进一步了解。尤为重要的是,课堂上可借助讲解奥运会的历史,使同学们学习到奥运会中运动员们努力拼搏、毫不退缩的精神
课堂上通过听、说、读、写、练、一系列教学活动,充分激发学生的英语学习热情。把更高、更快、更强的奥林匹克精神转换为更为高效的学习精神。
二 学情分析
初三学生,他们已具备了一定的听、说、读、写能力,自主学习能力较强 ,小组合作意识较强,要重点培养学生的创新思维能力,与日常生活紧密相联系,让英语学习变成一种愉快的享受。
三_ 教学目标
1._ 学生能正确掌握本课单词,重点句型
2._ 在学习课文的过程中,充分发挥小组合作的作用,在合作中学习,进一步增强英语语感。
3 通过学习课文,理解奥运会的历史,把奥运会拼搏精神转换为学习的动力。
四、__ 教学重点
1._ To learn something about the Olympics and some famous athletes
2._ To read the text and leaarn some important sentences and expressions.
五、_ 教学难点
1. The names of some places, _ Greece, Athens, Mexico .
Time: ancient, modern, BC. _ Medels: gold, silver, bronze
2._ To master the names of the athletes and places.

Step 1__ Leading in
1._ Show some pictures to the students first. (多媒体展示几副奥运会冠军的照片 )
Have a talk with the students: In 2008, we Chinese held the Olympics in Beijing, China. Here are some pictures of Chinese famous athletes. Can you tell me who they are?_ (They are Liu Xiang, Yao Ming and Guo Jingjing)
2._ Let the students discuss the following questions in small groups (4—6 students)
1) Do you know them? Are we Chinese proud of them? What is Liu Xiang good at? What is Yao Ming good at? What is Guo Jingjing good at?
2) What other sport names can you name?
3) What is your favorite Olympic sport?
4) Do you think the Olympics are important? Why or why not?

Step 2 Presentation
1) Listen to the tape, and let the students answer the questions :

_ At the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City, who won the gold metal in the long jump? Who won China’s first Olympic medal?
