Using the Olympus DM-20 Digital Voice Recorder

Introduction
The Olympus DM-20
Digital Voice Recorder is a
recording device that can
be used for recording
lectures (with permission)
and notes.
Recordings made on the
DM-20 can be transferred
to PC for archiving.
The HOLD &
VOICE/MUSIC
Switches
The HOLD switch is on the
back of the DM-20. Whenever you are not using
the DM-20 ensure that the HOLD switch is in the
up position. It also functions as the On/Off switch
For recording and playback ensure that the
VOICE/MUSIC switch is set to Voice.
Recording Formats
The DM-20 has several recording formats which
offer differing lengths of recording time at the
expense of recording quality.
HQ: provides ~ 9 hours recording time
SP: provides ~ 21 hours recording time
LP: provides ~ 45 hours recording time
The recording quality is displayed at the top of the
display screen.
If you wish to copy recordings to a CD to be
listened to on an ordinary CD player, you
should always choose HQ.
To change recording quality:
1. Press & hold DISPLAY/MENU until the menu
appears.
2. Use FF/REW to select REC MODE and press
PLAY
3. Use FF/REW to select required quality and
press PLAY
