Directs the secretary of the Department of Environmental Quality to appear before the Senate Environmental (Enacts Chapter 23 of Subtitle II of Title 30 of the Committee to provide information as to why the Gentilly Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, consisting of R.S. Landfill should remain open. 30:2571 through 2588). Creates and provides relative to the Mercury Risk Reduction Act. The goal of the act is to Act No. 29 achieve significant reductions in environmental mercury HB 29 by encouraging the establishment of effective state Representative Lancaster and Senator Dupre and local waste reduction, recycling, and management programs while encouraging non-mercury alternatives. Representative Damico and Senators Cheek, Fontenot, Malone, and Ullo Act No. 115 SB 209 (Amends and reenacts R.S. 49:191(3) and repeals Fontenot R.S. 49:191(1)(g)). Recreates the Department of Environmental Quality and all statutory entities made a (Amends and reenacts R.S. 30:2054(B)(9) and enacts part of the department by law. R.S. 30:2074(B)(10)). Authorizes the secretary of the Department of Environmental Quality to develop CONTENTS regulatory permits for certain air emissions and water discharges. Provides for limitations on such authority.
