Nowadays,thereisanincreasingawarenessoftheeffectoffoodonhumanhealthin oursociety.Thereareemergingscientificevidencethatthepatternofourdailyfood consumptioncanberelatedtosomecommonhealthconditionssuchasosteoporosis and obesity as well as some leading causes of death such as heart disease, cancer anddiabetes.Duringthislectureperiod,anintroductiontothechemicalcomposition offoodwillbegiven,followedbyanillustrationofthefoodcompositionanalysisand nutrientlabelinglawinHongKong.Therelationshipbetweendietandhumanhealth willalsobediscussed.Differentlearningactivitiesincludingtalks,laboratoryvisitand demonstrationwillbeused.
