Blindness‐referstoaconditionwhereapersonsuffersfromanyofthefollowingconditions: (i)totalabsenceofsight(ii)Visualacuitynotexceeding6/60or20/200(Snellen)inthebettereyewith correctinglenses,(iii)Limitationofthefieldorvisionsubtendinganangleof20degreesorworse. Personwithlowvision‐meansapersonwithimpairmentofvisualfunctioningevenaftertreatmentor standardrefractivecorrection,butwhousesorispotentiallycapableofusingvisionfortheplanningor executionofataskwithappropriateassistivedevice. UseofScribe: Visually impaired candidates and candidates whose writing speed is affected by cerebral palsy can use theirownscribeattheircostduringthewrittenexamination.Inallsuchcaseswhereascribeisused,the followingruleswillapply:‐ i) Thecandidatewillhavetoarrangehis/herownscribeathis/herowncost ii) Theacademicqualificationofthescribeshouldbeonegradelowerthanthestipulatedeligibility criteria. iii) Thescribecanbefromanyacademicdiscipline.Thescribeshouldpossess60%orlessermarks. iv) Boththecandidatesaswellasthescribewillhavetogiveasuitableundertaking,confirmingthat thescribefulfillsallthestipulatedeligibilitycriteriaforascribeasmentionedabove.Further,incase,it latertranspiresthathe/shedidnotfulfillanyofthelaiddowneligibilitycriteriaorsuppressesmaterial facts, the candidature of the applicant will stand cancelled, irrespective of the result of the written examination. v) Suchcandidateswhouseascribeshallbeeligibleforextratimeof20minutesforeveryhourofthe examination.
