What's Important about Population Genetics
It allows scientists to study genetic predispositions (遗传素质) on a macro-level It allows us better understand natural selection as well as our prehistoric ancestors It enables scientists to predict disease susceptibility in certain populations

A group of similar organisms. A group of populations that could interbreed.
Gene Pool 基因池
The total aggregate of genes in a population. If evolution is occurring, then changes must occur in the gene pool of the population over time.
