Unit 12 You're supposed to shark hands
Teaching aims:
1.Let students learn to tell. What they are supposed to do.
2.Learn the new words in unit12.
Teaching of new lesson:
Step1. Warm up: Let's sing and act.
Step2. Talk about the words you don't understand using the target language."What are you supposed to do "
[T=Teacher, S=student ]
S1: May I come in.
T: Yes, but you're not supposed to come to class late. Class repeat. You're not supposed to come to class late.
T: (Writes come to class late under wrong.)
What are some things you shouldn't do.
S2: You shouldn't eat in class.
T: Right. You're not supposed to eat in class. Ask students to repeat this example. Then ask students to tell about some things that are good to do in school. They may say things such as. You should do your homework every day. You should raise your hand before you talk and so forth, Rephrase each of these sentences using supposed to and ask students to repeat. You're supposed to do your homework every day. You're supposed to raise your hand before you talk.
Step3. Discuss the customs in different countries .
a. Listen to the tape and check you answers in la .
b. Check the answers. Ask a student to read the answers he or she chose.
c. Practice: (ask different students to act people in different countries. Then let the others ask actors)
The others: What are people supposed to do when they meet in your country, Celia
Celia: In my country-Brazil, friends kiss.
The others: What about in Mexico Rodrigo
Rodrigo: In Mexico we shake hands.
The others: How about in Japan, Yoshi
Yoshi: We bow.
While we are practicing, Teacher teach students the new words: bow, shake hand, kiss.
Step4: Show the card below to the students.
